Business The Grace Way #28

Good afternoon to everyone, be aware of how right you are with God this week, and you will soar in your businesses and occupations.

Super Abounding Grace

The gospel is the revelation of God’s righteousness, that we are clothed with. (Romans 1:17) It is not about what you have done wrong, but about what Jesus did right for us at Calvary.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV)

Don’t focus on where you missed it, rather focus on what Jesus did for you at the cross, see who you are in Christ, and the truth that you are innocent! If you keep looking back in your past with regret, and look to your future with fear, you will just continue to condemn yourself, and live in guilt. This will cause you to question God’s love, and bring you under a law mentality, instead of a righteousness mentality.

God loves you so much that in Christ He has set you up for eternal success and victory, and He has completely defeated our enemy and brought him to nothing. I want to share this quote from Francois du Toit;

“We have in our ignorance given far too much credit to the devil. He is defeated and disarmed. In the revelation of the gospel, he is brought to nought and rendered completely powerless. (1 Corinthians 2:6-8; Colossians 2:14-15). His sole aim has always been to keep mankind as ignorant as he himself was concerning their (mankind’s) inclusion in Christ. It was our ignorance and unbelief that empowered him to do so.”

Know that in Christ there is no condemnation, (divine sentence) and you are free now to succeed at whatever you set your hand to do. If you miss it, remember that where sin abounds, grace does super abound. (Romans 5:20)

The enemy has been defeated, and the gospel, good news announcing Jesus complete victory, is that you have been made righteous, you can rest in the finished work of the cross, the sin debt was paid, there is no more debt between you and God! If you do mess up, then thank God for His super-abounding grace, because in your weakness, God by His grace gives you strength. Reign in life through Christ this week!

Business The Grace Way #27 (Part 4)

Hello everyone! Let’s begin Part 4 of Seek First The Kingdom Of God And His Righteousness!

Up to this point we have looked at righteousness, peace and joy. Today we will look at a very important part of His kingdom.

Understanding God’s love for you, and your value to God. Matthew 6:25-34, which makes it clear that God doesn’t want us to worry about anything, also makes clear His love for us, and our value to Him.

Different translations say it a little differently, such as ‘take no thought’, ‘do not worry’ and ‘don’t be anxious’. In any event, God doesn’t want us to worry about anything at all, because you are so highly valued and greatly loved by God. He’s not just saying to don’t worry, it’ll be alright, He is saying we don’t have to worry because He loves us so much that He has prepared the good life for you, and you won’t fall short in any area of your life. He has abundantly prepared everything you would ever need, before you were even born. Worry and anxiety are really fear and doubt. Many times this comes from what religion has erroneously taught us about God. Things like God is angry because of what we have done, or God is trying to teach us something by putting us in hardship. Friends, this is not how God operates. He loves us!

Also we should note that in Mark 4:19, we’re told that worry, cares, and anxiety chokes the word making it unfruitful. God wants you fruitful, in everything you do, including your occupation and business. Because of what Jesus has done at the cross, we know that all our sin has been forever forgiven, and we have His abundance of unearned favor, so God has ‘set us up’ to succeed!

Back to Matthew 6, Jesus tells us not to worry, He points out that the birds of the air don’t sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Who feeds the birds? Our heavenly Father! Jesus is making a very vivid point here, if the birds are important to God, and He feeds and takes care of them, then because you are of MUCH higher value to God, then He will never let you down.

Your value to God is what Jesus is showing us, and God values us with such intensity, that He came down from heaven manifest in the flesh just to redeem us! We are so important to Him, that He entrusted this to no one, but He did it himself! Wow, what a loving Father.

He didn’t stop there; He placed His kingdom within us, and He gave us HIS righteousness, HIS peace, and HIS joy! After this great act of love, Jesus tells us to don’t seek after these things that the world seeks after, but seek first the kingdom of God (within you) and His righteousness (innocence, all sin debt was paid, you have right standing with God). The good news of the gospel spoken of in Romans 1:17 is the revelation of His righteousness. If you know your identity in Christ, you will never again lack. We’re told in Romans 2:4 that the goodness of God produces repentance. Repentance is actually a radical change of mind. Not groveling crying and confession of sins. Even as we read of the love and goodness of God, our minds begin to see just how loving and wonderful He is, and that is repentance, we change our minds to God’s way of thinking, and how He sees us. Now we become more righteousness conscious vs sin conscious.

In order to fully grasp His righteousness, peace, and joy, which is the kingdom of God, we need to know how valuable we are to Him. We are so amazingly valuable to Him, that we are actually priceless!

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He will add all those things that the world seeks, to you! God wants you to reign; He has equipped you through the finished work of the cross to reign, so reign in life today!

Business The Grace Way #26 (Part 3)

It’s Monday, and God has a blessed week in store for you!

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Part 3

Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Legalism has hindered many Christians, keeping them from enjoying everything God has for them. The kingdom of God is within us. Our redemption includes resting in Him. In order for us to rest in the finished work of the cross, we must know that we are righteous, (innocent and in right standing with God), we have been given His peace, the sin debt was paid on the body of Jesus, and God has also given us His joy.

I recently read this quote; “Adam’s transgression opened our eyes to a dimension of separation, dragged us from resting in all-sufficiency to the anxiety of perpetual lack.” Jesus came to redeem us with His blood, and restore our rest to us, so that we could again rest in God’s all-sufficiency.

Many Christians labor at their occupations with anxiety of perpetual lack driving them to work day and night, usually just to make ends meet. Some are driven endless hours to try to get rich. Many spend the first half of their lives building their wealth, just to spend wealth to restore their failing health in the second half. Friends there is something drastically wrong with that picture. Those folks I described are not at rest, and are in unbelief! Come to the table of grace, stop the toiling, and find His rest! Many have missed out on the precious moments of their children growing up. To them, I say there is no condemnation, and it’s never to late, wake up and quit doubting your redemption. He has prepared a rest in ‘His’ all sufficiency for you! Enter into the joy of the Lord.

And he called his name Noah, saying; This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands… (Genesis 5:29 NKJV) This is a reference to Jesus, and the rest we have in our redemption. The name Noah means “rest.”

Within every Christian is the kingdom of God, and part of that kingdom is joy. The word joy means to be happy, calm delight, glad and joyful. Joy also means to be content. Wherever you are, God wants you to be at peace, and full of joy (be content) because He has made it clear to us through Paul that “my God shall supply ALL your needs according to His riches on glory by Christ Jesus “(Philippians 4:19).

We can be content and at rest in the finished work of Jesus, knowing that He will never let us down. Let’s don’t refer to contentment as some do by saying, “well this is my lot in life; God is teaching me something.” No a thousand times no, that isn’t your loving father who finds GREAT worth in you and has richly supplied for you in Christ. When you are fully persuaded of this, you can have exceeding joy, and you will be content.

Matthew 6:25; “Therefore I say to you, do not worry…”

To worry is to be anxious, fearful, and also doubtful. Webster’s dictionary says that worry also means to ‘strangle’. Where have we heard that before? Mark 4:19; worry and anxiety entering in and ‘choke’ the word making it unfruitful.

God doesn’t want us seeking after things, for He knows we have need of these things. He is showing us in Matthew 6 just how valuable we are to Him, and how much He loves us.

There was a saying in my business that said; “Nobody cares how much you know, until the know how much you care.” God is love, and He is showing us His love for us. We are more valuable to Him than anything. Rest and take great joy in His love and provision, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He will add all those things to you.

When you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, you will find His love and your redeemed innocence, which will persuade you that God will richly care for every detail of your life. Joyfully reign in life as kings today!

Business The Grace Way #25 (Part 2)

Good Monday morning to everyone! Last week we started a series titled: “Seek First The Kingdom Of God And His Righteousness!” (Part 2)

If we want to experience success in our lives, or businesses and occupation, we need to know what God has done for us through Christ, and discover our identity in Him! John G. Lake said; “The only difference between Christ and us was His understanding of who He was”. This is a profound statement, and important to grasp. God left nothing out of our redemption, and He brought us up into the Trinity, He set us at one with Him. 1 John 4:17 As He is, so are we in this world.

Last week we looked at righteousness, this week we will look at Peace. Peace in Romans 15:17means; prosperity-one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.

The second of the three (righteousness peace and joy) is peace. Knowing you are righteous affects your peace. Hebrews chapter 4 speaks of entering into God’s rest. Without peace, there is no rest, and without knowing your innocent (righteous) there is no peace. Peace comes from knowing the debt was paid, and that God loves you so much that every provision you will ever need in life was richly and abundantly provided for you before you were ever born, by His grace; this includes health and healing, everything provided at the cross. He has set us at one again with Him, Praise the Lord! He loves us! Peace doesn’t come from being self-occupied, but from being Christ-occupied. God doesn’t measure or judge you based on your performance today; He looks at Jesus, and as Jesus is, that is how He sees you! (1st John 4:17)

Everywhere you look these days you see peace signs, and ‘pray for world peace’ bumper stickers, and the more peace stickers we see the less peace there is it seems. The world thinks if we can just get everything calmed down around us, then we will have peace. That kind of peace comes from external circumstances, and is not really lasting peace; whereas God’s peace comes from the inside, knowing who you are in Christ. This peace cannot be taken from you.

Peace from God is a free gift, and you can enjoy the peace of God even in the midst of a storm. Jesus bequeathed His peace to us in John 14:27″Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. The peace Jesus left with us is not like the world gives, as in “can’t we all just get along”. The world is ‘striving’ and attempting to find peace, and sadly many Christians are also striving to try to find peace, to no avail. Striving for peace is to try to make peace happen with your own self efforts and works righteousness, and usually externally. According to Webster’s dictionary strive means; to make efforts; to labor hard; or to rely on our own efforts to try to make peace. The law always says do more, grace always says done. When you are striving to make peace in your life, you are laboring under the law.

Jesus made peace with God by going to the cross for us, He reconciled us back to God. In other words Jesus did all the work then bequeathed His peace to us. All you have to do is receive what He gave you. Here is the peace Jesus gave you; the sin debt between man and God has been paid, youhave been made righteous and innocent, your salvation includes His peace, you don’t have to strive for it. Learning who you are in Christ, your identity in Him is important in receiving His peace. This is an internal peace (let not your heart be troubled). If you think God is mad at you, or upset with you because you forgot to confess a sin, then you won’t experience His peace the way He wants you to. Isaiah 54:9 “For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you, 10 For the mountains shalldepart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace (shalom) be removed,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

This verse was given in Isaiah 54, showing that after Jesus went to the cross for us (Isaiah 53) that He would never again be angry with you! Why? All of God’s anger was exhausted on the body of Jesus on the cross. Praise the Lord!

Isaiah 53:5 …The chastisement for our peace was upon Him… Or the punishment for (or so that we could have His peace) was upon Him, He paid for our peace. This is what shalom means; safe (safety) well (wellness) happy, health, prosperity, peace, favor, (good health) + perfect as in health, prosper (prosperity prosperous) Rest safe (all is well). That is the Strong’s definition of shalom.

Righteousness, peace and joy is the Kingdom ofGod. When you have turmoil or anxiety in your heart, you are no longer in the peace that Jesus bequeathed to you. Both definitions of peace I gave you contain ‘rest’ as part of peace. God wants us to enter into His rest, our Promised Land of Hebrews chapter 4. When we face a challenge in life, it is imperative that we know who we are in Him. The challenge you face, no matter what it is, did not take God by surprise. He prepared your victory and provision for you before you were ever born, so rest in the finished work of the cross, and let God take care of it. Rest is the Promised Land; nothing is sweeter than being forever in peaceful rest, knowing that God has taken care of everything for you.

Righteousness, peace, and next week joy. Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, that’s the Kingdom of God, and it is in you! Reign as a King in life today!

Business The Grace Way #24 (Part 1)

Good morning to everyone, may God richly bless you this week, and His revelation of grace shine in your heart.

Seek First The Kingdom Of God And His Righteousness!

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus instructs us not to worry (or be concerned) about the necessities of life, that our Father knows we have need of these things. He has generously supplied everything for the birds, the lilies, and how much more valuable are we to God?

In verse 33 Jesus says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Jesus spoke these words before His finished work of redemption at the cross. God has such an intense love for us, that He doesn’t want us to worry, be anxious, or fearful at all, about anything, and Jesus redeemed us from these things.

What is troubling you today? Is it your business, or occupation? Is it your spouse or children? It doesn’t really matter because if you seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness, He will make sure you don’t lack anything! The Lord is your Shepard, and you shall not be in lack. (Psalm 23) People find themselves in lack, because their worry drives them to try to do something through fear and self effort to fix things, which God has already provided for. He said He would add all these things, didn’t He?

Let’s take a moment and define the kingdom of God; “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17 NKJV) Romans 1:16-17, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is THE power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it THE righteousness of God is revealed… His righteousness is revealed in the (gospel) good news of His grace to mankind. Praise the Lord, the kingdom of God is within us, it is revealed to us through the Gospel! Romans 5 tells us that we have been given the gift of righteousness, we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Jesus has made you right with God; He took the punishment for ALL your sins on the cross and gave you His innocence. You were acquitted; you are free. Most Christians would agree that they have been forgiven. If this is so, then why are they still living in guilt and condemnation? Because they don’t really believe they are totally forgiven, they have a compunction to confess all their sins, cause they’re just not quite sure that they are really completely forgiven.

Folks this is what righteousness is about, it is a gift, you can’t earn it by your confession of sin, sackcloth and ashes or anything else; it is what Jesus has done, nothing to do with your efforts. Matter of fact your efforts to try to become righteous will void your faith according to Romans 4:17. That is also called self-righteousness. Understanding your righteousness is vitally important for the other two parts (peace and joy) of the kingdom of God to operate in your lives, as you will soon see.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV) Jesus did not know sin, and He became sin, in the same way that you knew no righteousness, and you became the righteousness of God in Christ. It was by pure, wonderful and radical grace; you had nothing to do with, it is a gift. Romans 5:17 & 18, Mirror Translation; If death saw the gap in one sin, and grabbed the opportunity to dominate mankind because of one man, how much more may we now seize the advantage to reign in righteousness in this life through that act of Christ, who declared us innocent by His grace. Grace is out of all proportion in superiority to the transgression. 18 The conclusion is clear: it took just one offence to condemn mankind; one act of righteousness declares the same mankind innocent. Again, I ask, if you are innocent (and you are), then why are you living in regret, guilt and condemnation? Do you see here that many times we say we’re innocent but our actions scream, “I don’t believe it though, look at how I’m living, in regret and guilt.” Catching this revelation will change your entire way of thinking! Romans 8:1, There is therefore, now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ. If you’re a Christian, then your in Christ, so there is NO condemnation for you. Jesus was already condemned for your sin, and it was punished on His body, never to be brought up again! Never! Jesus said in John 3:17 that He did not come to condemn the world, but to save the world. Does this make sense? Forgiveness is the centerpiece of our redemption, and until we know this, (even though we are righteous) then righteousness remains another empty religious word. You are righteous by faith, so next time you mess up, thank God that you are righteous and Jesus made you innocent by His blood, that my friend takes faith. No faith is needed to cry big tears, saying, “Oh my God I did it again, please God, oh please please forgive me, I’m so sorry I confess my sin.” Then walking around for weeks full of guilt and self-condemnation. There is no faith in that.

Righteousness, Peace and Joy

Now let’s look at peace, the second of the three (righteousness peace and joy) and how righteousness affects our peace. He loves us! Peace doesn’t come from being self-occupied, but from being Christ-occupied. God doesn’t measure or judge you based on your performance today; He looks at Jesus, and as Jesus is, that is how He sees you! (1st John 4:17)

Know today that God loves you! I will pick up from here in part 2 of this teaching. Meditate on these powerful truths, and reign in life today.

Business The Grace Way #23

Good morning everyone, see yourself through God’s perfect redemption this week.

In all the years that I have been in ministry, I have never seen anything like the impact that the good news of God’s grace has in people’s lives! I have seen more lives radically transformed in the last almost five years, than all the previous years. This is something to get excited about; Jesus did everything for us, and left us this instruction, believe. Believe that you are righteous, holy, forgiven, innocent, and healed because of what Jesus did for us at the cross.

A simple instruction, yet the enemy’s goal is to accuse and condemn you, and make you feel like God is mad at you, or that something happened to you as retribution for missing it somehow. This is impossible! All our sins were punished on the body of Jesus at the cross! There is no retribution from God when Jesus already paid the price.

Why do we so easily fall back into this same trap over and over? 2nd Peter 1:9 says it is because we have forgotten that we were cleansed from all our sins. You are forever clean, holy and righteous (innocent). God wants us more aware of our righteousness, (being established in righteousness), who we are in Christ. This is made crystal clear on Hebrews 10:

Hebrews 10:17-20
18 Sins were dealt with in such a thorough manner that no further offerings would ever again be required. Nothing that we can personally sacrifice could add further virtue to our innocence. [including your sacrifice of confession of your sins in order to be forgiven]. If you feel guilty about something, then your questioning the innocence, you have in Christ. The same goes for when you condemn yourself. Whenever you feel troubled, worried, or anxious about anything you will find somewhere the door was opened to receive accusation, which then begins to trouble you. Of course as Christians we don’t use the word ‘worried’ we say we’re just ‘concerned’.

Jesus bequeathed His peace to us when He said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. (John 14:27 NKJV) The debt between God and man has been forever settled in Christ, knowing this, will open the door to His peace and rest in your life. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.” The world’s peace is for everyone to try to get along, no more wars or rumors of wars; it is all based on circumstances. His peace calms the storms in a man’s heart, and this peace is based entirely on what God has done for us in Christ. This peace is assured by God’s Word concerning our redemption. When we know we have been forgiven, made innocent, and there is no sin debt between man and God, then it is clear that God is for us, not against us; His provision for everything in life is yours. That kind of peace in every mans heart would do far more for the peace (circumstances) in the world.

Jesus also said, “let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Your peace is disrupted by letting your heart be troubled. The only thing we do, is believe what God has done for us and let not our heart be troubled. Don’t let your peace get disturbed by things around you, behold Jesus, He bequeathed His peace to you. Don’t worry about your business, finances or anything because worry only chokes the word making it unfruitful; instead meditate on the promises of the Word, what was fully provided to you through the finished work of the cross, and available to you richly by His grace! This will cause you to bear fruit, some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred fold. (Mark 4:20)

Your identity is in Christ now, not your business or occupation, but in who you are in Christ! He has made you righteous (innocent) and holy, don’t forget your peace (shalom) is based on the finished work of the cross, your identity also. When you believe correctly you will live correctly. Meditate on these things, not what is troubling you, and you will find His rest. Enter into His rest, there is nothing in the world like it! Now reign in life today!

Business The Grace Way #22

Good morning! I hope it has become clear in the last 22 weeks; that God wants you blessed and prosperous in everything you do! So be blessed this week!

As you know, I like to conclude most of what I write with something like, “now reign in life as a King this week.” The reason I do that, is because it is God’s desire that you reign in life as a King, and I like to constantly remind you of this! (Romans 5:17) The Amplified Bible uses the word ‘King’; however, the very word ‘reign’ implies King. In Romans 5:17 & 21 the word reign in the Greek is basileuo, which is to rule as a King, to reign. Reign is royal rule or authority.

When our minds are set on our redemption realities, and we understand that our redemption was complete and perfect, everything we lost was restored at the cross, including our innocence, then we can reign in life. We are seated in Heavenly places with Christ Jesus, right now! Knowing this, and that it is by His grace, how can you not reign in life? And your business or occupation not be blessed. I believe most Christians live substandard to what has been paid for at the cross. Why is that? Simply put, religion has introduced a form of godliness, which denies the power of God. (2 Timothy 3:5) Romans 1:17 tells us that the gospel of Christ (finished work) is THE power of God to salvation… For in it the righteousness of God is revealed! The revelation of the righteousness of God in your life is THE power of God, which causes you to REIGN in life! We have been declared ‘innocent’ by His grace!

I know this sounds simple, but it is simple and extremely important to your reigning. Forgiveness of sin is central to the finished work, understanding these simple yet powerful redemptive realities are important to the Christian reigning in life. Romans 5:18 (Mirror Translation) The conclusion is clear; it took just one offense to condemn mankind; one act of righteousness declares the same mankind innocent. The controversy surrounding forgiveness, is amazing. You know many Christians believe that all sin must be confessed before one can be forgiven, this controversy was started based on one verse of scripture in 1st John 1:9. It makes sense that the enemy would want Christians to always question their forgiveness, then they will live in perpetual guilt and fear thinking maybe they missed confessing a sin, and now have broken fellowship with God. Then they will fear constantly that maybe they missed the will of God. This will hinder their reigning in life; I assure you of that. This is that form of godliness I spoke of. It is called self-effort or self-righteousness. The Pharisees practiced self-righteousness, can you find one single account of a miracle done by a Pharisee? They tried to become through their self-efforts what grace had already done. That’s why Jesus told us that our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the Pharisee’s. (Matthew 5:20) The Pharisee’s righteousness was a self-effort, works based righteousness, trying to ‘do’ to become what God has already made us. Our righteousness in Christ is a free gift by His unmerited favor (grace); you already are. You don’t have to do anything to become.

Are you living under condemnation? A result of condemnation is guilt. Do you feel guilty about anything? Yes, I said anything! If you feel guilty about anything, then that is where your ‘unrest’ your troubled heart will come from. If so, then check what you believe, because someone who was made innocent through the cross, is not guilty. Martyn Lloyd Jones said about Romans 8:1 concerning no condemnation, that in the Greek it means it is utterly impossible. Condemnation is utterly impossible in Christ! Jesus took ALL your condemnation upon His body at the cross, thus making it utterly impossible for you to ever be condemned again. Guilt and condemnation go hand in hand, once you are condemned, then you feel guilty, and that condemnation came as a result of the law. 2 Corinthians 3:7 & 9 the law is referred to as “the ministry of death” and “the ministry of condemnation.” The ultimate goal of guilt and condemnation in your life, is to produce death. Be mindful of your redemption realities; there is therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ. (Romans 8:1)

Colossians 1:12-14 NKJV; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His Love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. And Colossians 2:13 NKJV; And you being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses.

If He has forgiven you of all trespasses (and He has), then you are NOT guilty, your innocent praise the Lord! You will enter into His rest based on your believing your innocent. You will find unrest in your believing your guilty. This is your righteousness being revealed, which is THE power of God! Receive it, believe it and reign in life as a King today!

Business The Grace Way #21

Greetings to everyone, believe what God has said about you, and walk in victory.

What are you facing today? Enter into His rest, don’t miss out on it because of unbelief. God prepared a rest for us through the finished work of the cross, a rest that as you learn and believe who you are in Christ; having your mind established in redemption realities, will cause you to enjoy a profuse victory.

This victorious living is intended for every area of your life. Many Christians separate their occupations and careers from their personal lives; they refer to their work (if not in a ministry) as secular, so they exclude it from any blessings because we have been erroneously taught that God will only bless what ‘you do for Him’. The word secular – Has a root meaning of “temporal”—opposed to the eternity of the church—and means “not connected to a religion.” We are not connected to a ‘religion’ we are connected to Jesus, who loves you with great intensity, and cares for everything you do. He took time to count the hairs on your head, why did He do that? Because He loves you, that’s why!

Jesus came to redeem us and reintroduce us to ourselves; He redeemed our innocence, made us righteous. In Hebrews 4, we see that Israel did not enter into His rest because they believed a lie about themselves. In verse 11, we are warned not to fall according to the same example of unbelief.

When Christians try to live by the law, they are trying to (by their self-efforts) become what they already are. They try to become righteous, and holy, when we have been made righteous and holy in Christ. They try to continually confess forgiveness, so they can be forgiven. You already are forgiven and innocent, because Jesus took your punishment once and for all on the cross. So don’t try to become who God has already made you to be, you’ll only frustrate the grace of God in your life.

You cannot do anything special to deserve His rest; Jesus already paid for it. In Numbers 33:11, we see where the report of 10 spies, produced unbelief, and it stopped them from entering the rest, (promised land.) They believed they were nothing, a nobody, and that the enemy was far too big to overcome. They did not believe what God told them.

We have been redeemed through Jesus, He is the satisfying sacrifice that redeemed our innocence. God’s plan of redemption is perfect and complete. Do you believe that? If you do, then you won’t have any problem believing that through Christ, you have been made righteous, innocent, fully acquitted, forever forgiven, holy, and intensely loved by your Father, and He will never be angry with you again. You would also believe, as He IS so are you in this world. All of this is because of His grace, not your “trying to become.” So simply rest in what Christ has done for you, and cease from your efforts of trying to become what he has already done. Whenever you try to become, and you don’t quite measure up, (nobody can) then guilt will flood in every time you fall short. You cannot have a quality relationship with anybody in an atmosphere of guilt! Live guilt free, Jesus made you innocent! Don’t try to earn what He has given to you.

This is the super abundant life Jesus came to give you! When you catch this revelation, it will turn your life, career, business and everything else upside down! What an awesome loving wonderful Father we have! Now can you see how you can reign in life today as a King, through what He has done for you?

Business The Grace Way #20

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord, may His effortless success be experienced in your life this week, by His grace.

God’s word gives us great hope for our future, and that includes your business and occupation. Circumstance doesn’t define who you are; God has defined who you are in Christ. As a result of the finished work of the cross, God has equipped you with the most powerful blessing known to man, which will cause you to reign in life. Romans 1:17 (Mirror Translation) Herein lies THE secret of the power of the gospel; there in no good news in it until the righteousness of God is revealed! (The good news is the fact that the cross of Christ was a success. God rescued the life of our design; He redeemed our innocence. Man would never again be judged righteous or unrighteous by his own ability to obey moral laws! It is not about what man must do but about what Jesus has done!) God now persuades everyone to believe what He knows to be true about them. (It is from faith to faith) The prophets wrote in advance about the fact that God believes that righteousness defines the life that He always had in mind for us. “Righteousness by His (God’s) faith gives meaning to life.”

That most powerful blessing known to man is His righteousness. Receive His abundance of grace and gift of righteousness, and reign in life. Righteousness is a gift, you cannot become righteous by your works, or self-efforts, that is works righteousness.

I was recently asked what I meant when I said I came to the end of myself.

Before I caught the revelation of God’s grace, I would try to plan my success, and then in my own self-effort, I would try to execute my plan, make it work. I tried to earn favor with God by my works, giving, praying, church attendance, doing things that I thought would get God’s attention and get Him to see my efforts and give (earn) me favor. (Whenever I would mess up, I thought I was out of fellowship with God, so I had to work harder to get back to where I was). This I thought would bring blessing to my business and ministry. I would attend sales conferences where the top salespeople would tell those in attendance that we needed to do more, we could never quite do enough, always thinking I was almost there then falling short again. Many Christians feel this way; they may experience a degree of success, but then somehow they are back to square one, starting over. Then the self-effort based questions start; where did I miss it, What did I do wrong, God why aren’t you blessing me, haven’t you seen what I have been doing for you? I was living a life of constant striving. After decades of this, one day about 6 years ago, I read Hebrews 4, about entering the rest of God, and I became obsessed with this rest, and desperate to get it. I also realized that I could not continue to strive any longer, so I began my quest. You could say that this was where I came to the end of myself, I realized self was the problem, myself, and as I came to the revelation of grace, I could clearly see I was full of self-effort.

This gospel of grace was the most liberating message I had ever heard! Jesus forgave me, made me FOREVER innocent; he qualified me, at the cross, He became me, so I could become Him WOW! I began to see who I really was in Christ. It was everything Jesus did, and ALL I had to do was believe it and receive His grace and gift of righteousness. I didn’t have to try anymore, for the first time in my life, I could rest in Christ Jesus and what He had done for me! I woke up in a different world, effortless success was mine, because Jesus paid the price, His favor was upon me in my business, and ministry. Does this sound too good to be true? Well, it is too good, and it is true praise the Lord! God loves you so much that when your cup is full He just keeps pouring, and your cup of blessing is running over; He is way too good to me, and His goodness produced a radical change of mind (repentance) in my life. I am hidden in Christ in God, what a wonderful place to be; I am loved, accepted, righteous, innocent and qualified to receive my inheritance. Yea He is too good, and I love it, and all I had to do was quit striving, believe what Jesus did for me, receive it, and I’m at rest, His rest.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, (Romans 5:1 NKJV) Peace is a place of unhindered enjoyment of friendship beyond guilt, suspicion, blame or inferiority. His rest celebrates unhindered enjoyment of man and our unhindered enjoyment of Him! I began to see just how much God really loved me. Romans 5:8-9 (Mirror Translation) 8 Herein is the extremity of God’s love gift: mankind was rotten to the core when Christ died their (our) death. 9 If God could love us that much when we were ungodly and guilty, how much more are we free to realize His love now that we are declared innocent by His blood?

Cease from you efforts, quit striving and toiling today, rest in what Jesus has done for you at Calvary, He has prepared the good life for you; He has prepared abundant provision for you, so enter His rest! The only thing you have to do is believe. Reign in life today!

Business The Grace Way #19

Have you seen economic drought in the lives of people you know? Are you fearful that you might be next? Don’t be fearful, God has made a difference between you and the world, just as He did for Israel in the land of Goshen; Exodus 8:22 NKJV And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the land.

You are different; you belong to God, in that day God did not dwell in the people, He said He was in the midst of the land. Now you are the temple in which God dwells, and He has set you apart to Himself! Wow what a loving, kind and generous Father, you are different. You can expect to see His abundance in your business, occupation and even if your retired, in your retirement!

The question for many is; “if this is true why haven’t I seen it, am I doing something wrong”? If you are trying to achieve any of this by your self-effort, then you are laboring under the law, and Romans 4:14 says; For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect. Your self-efforts void your faith; Therefore, it is of faith that it might be according to grace (Romans 4:16). Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Understand that the word saved in Ephesians 2:8 is not coming to Jesus for salvation, although it includes that, it is much more. The Greek word for saved here is sozo which means to protect, heal, deliver, preserve, make whole. This is referring to God’s salvation working in your life, everyday of your life, by His grace, not your works. He wants to protect you daily from drought, and prosper your business, (this is part of being made whole/complete which is also to bless and prosper you). Let’s look at why He is doing this; Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us. The Amplified Bible says; because of the intense love which He loved us… We have this salvation daily working in our lives because of His intense love for us, Praise the Lord! The question is not “did I DO something wrong” rather it should be “what am I believing.” Wrong believing will produce wrong living. If you think, your problem is about your doing, then your believing wrong. Jesus has done it all for you, just receive His abundance of grace and free gift of righteousness, and you will reign in life. God has truly abundantly provided everything in life that you will ever need, and this includes customers who are drawn to your company by His grace, (unearned, undeserved, and unmerited favor). His grace and His grace alone.

The parable of the sower shows us what can be done to choke the word and make it unfruitful. Mark 4:18-19 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (The deceitfulness of riches can be described as; trying to determine your self worth based on how much money you have). Your worth is based on Christ in you! 1st Corinthians 4:8 (Mirror Translation) tells us: 8 You are already saturated, literally jam-packed to capacity; you cannot get any wealthier than what you are! You are royalty (because of what happened to you in Christ,)… So the worries, fears, cares of the world or being anxious make Gods word unfruitful in Christian’s lives. Mark 4:20 tells us how to bear fruit in our lives’ businesses and everything we do; 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred. Hear the word, receive it (believe) and bear fruit. I love the lord; He makes everything so simple.

Jeremiah 17:7-8; Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Notice it says you shall never cease from bearing fruit, even in drought, we’re also told not to be fearful or anxious in the year of drought, because as we just read, this causes the word to be unfruitful in our lives; and we want to never cease from yielding fruit. Believe what God says about you, rest in what He has done for you through Jesus. Your business may be agriculture; His grace has you covered; it is undeserved favor. You get what Jesus deserves because of the cross. Don’t worry, be happy, He has made a difference between you and the world! Reign as a King in life today!
